College Corner: Bryan Soloman earns freshman honors

Eastern Kentucky University third baseman Bryan Soloman (Jackson Memorial) was named the Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year by league head coaches and sports information directors.

Soloman was one of two Colonels to start all 55 games, serving as EKU's clean-up hitter for most of the season. He batted .307 with 63 hits, a team-best 16 doubles, nine homers, 40 runs batted in and a .517 slugging percentage. In conference play, he hit .345 with four doubles, six homers and 25 RBI.
