Napolitano surrendered just five hits and struck out four while sitting between 83-85. He located his pitches well and showed good endurance. He also flashed a good 70-mph curve.

SS Curtis Pomeroy (2011 Shrewbury, MA) led the Builders at the plate, going 1-for-2 with the team's only extra-base hit — a double in the third. Pomeroy showed good defensive actions and quick hands. He also charged balls well and proved to be a heads-up base runner.

Three Farrah Builders hitters recorded multiple hits in a 8-5 win over the Kentucky Baseball Club Friday afternoon at the Boston Red Sox 5-Plex.

RF Jarret DeHart (2013 Shawnee HS, N.J.) went 2-for-3 with a single and a RBI double, showing quick hands and a line-drive swing path. C Daniel "DJ" Link (2012 Seton Hall Prep, N.J.) went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles — one for a RBI. Link hit to the opposite field well and turned on the inside fastball nicely. He also showed a good arm behind the plate. LF Joe Iacobellis (2013 Red Bank Catholic HS, N.J.) also went 2-for-3, hitting a pair of back-to-back singles in the third inning. After the Builders batted around, Iacobellis drove in a run on his second hit.

Farrah RHP John Holland (2012 Jackson Liberty HS, NJ) pitched well through four innings, allowing three runs on three hits while striking out seven. Holland touched 86 and sat between 81-86, showing good control of his pitches and nice movement on his 71-mph curve.

BRYAN SOLOMAN NAMED
GATORADE NJ PLAYER OF THE YEAR!

The Farrah Builders would like to congratulate
Bryan Soloman as being named "2010 Gatorade New Jersey Player of the Year." Bryan follows Rick Porcello (2006-2007, now pitching for the Detriot Tigers) as being the 2nd Farrah Builder to be named to this prestigious honor. Gatorade nominates players who have shown excellence in both academia and athletics, as well as displaying outstanding character on and off the field. Bryan certainly fits this mold, as his accolades on the field include batting .462 with 37 RBI, 27 runs scored, and had an impressive 9 game Home Run streak, just 1 shy of the national record for his senior year. Bryan also volunteers as a youth baseball instructor, and never hesitates to help his fellow players. He has been a great player and role model for the
last 2 years on the Farrah Builders.
Bryan Soloman, congratulations.

(Click here for Gatorade's Official Press Release)

Congratulations to Kevin Krause for receiving the Muche-Ohalek Award, which recognizes a Staten Island baseball player who best combines athletic ability, citizenship and sportsmanship.
